WT Gate Sentry Automated Gate Controller
The unit pictured includes one of several types of RTUs that can be deployed to automatically or manually operate the gate and provide a communication link for a SCADA system. The WTGS can be solar powered or operate off an AC supply.
No product in gate automation comes close to the ease of operation or maintenance as the WTGS Gate Controller. No technical staff is required to set limits or flow/level targets. No additional equipment such as laptop computer is required as the units can be shipped with software installed although it may be necessary to download stored data or load a new program should a change or upgrade be needed.
The Watch Technologies Gate Sentry (WTGS) units fit right on Waterman-type assemblies, custom gates, headgates, or anything with a screw-style control shaft. The WTGS unit can also be installed as a node on an existing system or even as an automated "push-button" solution for manually controlled gates. |

Watch Technologies has brought a simple, straight-forward approach to gate automation for new or retrofit applications. The WTGS assembly simply fits directly over a gate stem and with a very minimum of work attaching the gate stem to the limit switch is ready to go. Automatic operations will control downstream flow to within .02 cfs in typical applications and or up- or downstream levels in reservoirs to the same degree of accuracy and canals. Data logging is easy as is the telemetry.
The heart of the WTGS Gate Controller is a very powerful 12 volt gear motor directly connected to a gear-lift with simple chain. The reversible Gearmotor is extremely robust moving the gate at any speed the system requires. Chain tension is adjusted by turning a single bolt at the base of the motor. A very accessible simple relay system controls which direction the motor runs based on whether the gate needs to pulse up or down to control flow or level.
